An Amateur exhibitor or 'non professional' over the age of 18 years may be of varying experience from first time novice, to many years of experience showing in the ring. The Amateur may train their own horse or might employ the use of a professional trainer. Either choice, the Amateur exhibitor may elect to show in an amateur listed show class and/or show in the open class along side the professional handlers.
Amateurs may spend many hours and dedication to the horses they show, learning to train, clip and exhibit them. It can be very rewarding and lots of fun in the process.
Evergreen Miniature Horse Club offers many classes for the Amateur exhibitor at their annual Evergreen Spectacular Miniature Horse & Pony Show. These special Amateur classes are offered in both the Under and Over Miniature Horse divisions as well as the Shetland and Pony divisions. Check out our Show Info page for further information and classes offered.
